today is wednesday and i decided to stay home today and monday after getting really ill over the weekend. i think i'm getting better, i'm managing it but i haven't done much after getting sick. i can't remember if i posted that i was considering bottles instead of cylinders, but the idea came to me and it seems like a neat idea.
i have a few empty beer bottles that i can use and they are different sizes, giving each one a different tone. i need to develop a machine that rotates them in a way so they emit these tones. one problem i see right away is that they are glass and i don't know how i could attach them so they spin. maybe i could wrap a piece of metal around the body of the bottle and fasten it tight enough so it doesn't come off when spinning.
i just thought of another idea thats a bit different. what i could do is have the bottles lined up and stable with a fan behind each one. when the fan blows, the tone comes out. maybe i could take it further and connect the fans to a computer that randomly turns the fans on and off.
